A trip to Lymington in the New Year provided one of the last opportunities to see the 'Wessex' class 442 units passing through Brockenhurst before they went off-lease, thus depriving passengers of sensible seating and a bar-lounge between Waterloo and Weymouth amongst other routes. Hopefully someone will take them on - there's nothing quite like relaxing on a giant sofa with a beer while listening to the whine of British built electric stock clattering along between Southampton and Bournemouth!
