| Always trying to be one step of the opposition, this event would see a new record in preservation - no less than six members of the same class in action at the same railway at the same time. Unfortunately, 'Bodiam' was failed at the last minute and was unable to attend, but there were still seven Brighton built locos in service: 'Terriers' 672 'Fenchurch', 55 'Stepney', 662 (formerly Martello), 32678 (formerly Knowle), and W8 'Freshwater', also E4 class 32473 (formerly Birch Grove), 80151 (the latest Brighton built loco surviving) and the SER O1 class no 65. |
